Client Story: Quad Cities Community Foundation

There are many stories and connections about how Numad got its start. One of our very first collaborations with each other occurred in the Iowa-Illinois Quad Cities, while Numads Matt and Ted were undergraduates (many, many years ago at this point) at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. 

The Quad Cities in many ways is like a second home. It is where Ted grew up for 25 years (and still has family there), and where Matt moved to for college. Whenever we get to partner with organizations in the Quad Cities, it makes us really quite happy... and it offers us a chance to invest in the vibrancy of this community. 

So, we were thrilled when Oscar Preis, who formerly worked at St. Ambrose University, recommended to the Community Foundation that they look at Numad for a redesign of their website and content management system back in 2012.

Over the course of four months, while working remotely but also traveling a few times to the Quad Cities, Numad collaborated on a redesign process that focused specifically on researching and assessing what the Community Foundation's audiences (including donors, financial advisors, community leaders, nonprofit agencies, and more) wanted to know more about. We took those findings and turned them into a website that dramatically altered the navigation and content on the site, while also employing new technologies to make the site mobile-friendly. 

The collaboration was so successful that since our initial work with the Community Foundation, Numad has been brought on to design and write their annual report, and in the fall of 2015, was enlisted to work side-by-side with the foundation's new president on a number of exciting communications, marketing and storytelling initiatives that will usher in the next 50 years of the foundation. 

For Numad, there truly is nothing more rewarding than working in communities that you love and believe in. The Quad Cities is one of those places, and it is just awesome (there's really no other word for it) that we can to collaborate with people like Sherry Ristau, Barb Melbourne and others to support this community.
